Hi,
I am having this exact same problem. I use a lightning to hdmi adapter that then connects to my hdmi to optical out so I can listen to pure digital audio in my car. Im not sure which update broke this, but if I have my cable connected to the phone and then start Waze, I get a black screen with a disconnect button, which does nothing when pressed. Disabling the "Control from Car Unit" doesnt work as it switches it back on. The only workaround is to start waze FIRST, then connect the cable. However switching between apps on my phone when connected can cause it to go back to the black screen again which requires me to unplug and restart Waze. PLEASE PLEASE fix this.
Any help will be apprecited.
