If there’s one man most responsible for the success and popularity of the Boss 302 name, it’s Parnelli Jones. The accomplished racing driver took home the 1970 Trans-Am championship in a Boss 302, creating a legend of the race car and its road-going counterpart. As if that weren’t enough, Parnelli was an important part of the development of the current 2012 Mustang Boss 302, perhaps the most all-round impressive Mustang to ever come from Ford. In fact, while Ford was developing the car they vowed to not build the car unless it met with Parnelli’s approval in terms of both performance appearance. It’s not surprise then that Parnelli would want a 2012 Mustang Boss 302 of his own. He recently took delivery of a Black/Red Laguna Seca model at Power Ford in Torrance, CA. While you might expect that this car would be tucked away in a garage somewhere, we have it full authority that Parnelli will be making full use of the car and already has plans to take it to the track.
